This August delegates from Congressional Districts across the country will vote for either Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton as the Democratic Party nominee. I am running to become a delegate for Barack Obama and represent the vote you cast in the 53rd Congressional District on February 5th. If I am elected I will participate in the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver on August 25th – 28th as the Obama delegate from CD 53.

ON APRIL 13th you can vote for me to represent CD 53 and the greater San Diego Region. That Sunday, all you will have to do is go to the polling station (TBA) anytime between 2 and 3 PM and cast your ballot for me. Many other people are running for this delegate position that have not done nearly as much as I have to secure this nomination for Senator Obama. To win this election I am depending on YOUR support.

Over the past year I have worked as both the Students for Barack Obama Chapter Coordinator at UCSD and the Region Coordinator for San Diego/Inland Empire. Each week, for the past year, I worked with SFBO state leadership and the California Youth Vote Director to discuss and plan our campaign strategy. At UC San Diego alone, my organization built a voter database of over 1,500 students that we identified as Obama supporters. I personally worked with both the University and the County Registrar of Voters to double the number of on-campus polling stations to ensure that students were not discouraged by lengthy poll lines. Our Get Out the Vote efforts at UCSD resulted in over 75% of voters in on-campus precincts casting their ballots for Senator Obama. Throughout the greater San Diego/Inland Empire region, I mobilized volunteers from Riverside to Irvine to host media events, rallies, and voter outreach efforts at UC, CSU and private universities.

One of the reasons Senator Obama will win this nomination and the presidency is because of the youth vote and I have done as much as anyone to turn out young voters in Southern California. Please vote for me on April 13th.
